About the Author

Alexander Kopelman is a writer, advocate, and social entrepreneur devoted to helping children and adults live — and lead — with authenticity. For more than thirty years, his work has centered on social justice, youth empowerment, and the transformative power of creativity.

As co-founder and CEO of the Children’s Arts Guild, Alexander has guided programs that help young people challenge limiting cultural messages and express who they truly are through creativity, reflection, and self-discovery. His philosophy is simple yet powerful: when adults show up authentically, children gain the courage to do the same.

Before founding the Guild, Alexander served as Director of Marketing at Girls Inc., the leading girls’ empowerment organization in the United States and Canada. For more than 12 years, he advanced national visibility for programs that champion equity, confidence, and self-expression in girls and young women.

An accomplished author and member of the Authors’ Guild, Alexander has written or co-authored ten books exploring themes of personal growth, leadership, and creativity. His newest work, For Real: Helping Children Remain Their Authentic Selves in a Limiting World, brings together decades of experience and insight to help parents, educators, and caregivers foster genuine belonging and self-worth in children.

Alexander draws inspiration from the transformative moments when people connect to their true selves — whether through art, honest conversation, or acts of kindness that remind us of our shared humanity. His work continues to reflect a deep belief in the creative potential within every person, and the collective power of authenticity to change lives.
